As part of the various bits of freelance work I do in Arts Administration, I've just completed a new website for the London Festival of American Music - a wonderful boutique biannual festival now in its 8th edition. I'm sad I won't be able to catch any of the events as they're all in London and I'm unable to escape from Sheffield at the moment. : (

But if you're going to be down South in September, check it out!: lontano.co.uk

I'm so happy to have collaborated on the production of the liner notes for this rather dynamic album (albeit in a very modest capacity!) just released by my great friend and brilliant violinist, Violeta Vicci (AKA Violeta Barreña). The Improvisations in particular are really evocative - they remind me of beautiful things I've heard by Stephan Micus. And - not actually knowing that Violeta could sing - I was amazed by the vocalise - a bit reminiscent of the haunting herding call songs they sing in Scandinavia. I highly recommend you give it a listen!

If you haven't heard of Odaline de la Martínez, you should! The first woman to ever conduct a Prom at the Albert Hall, she's been a formidable presence on the British classical music scene for over four decades, and you can now read more about her on the sparkly new website I've just designed for her at odalinedelamartinez.com. I'm very grateful to Odaline (AKA 'Chachi') for placing her confidence in me to build this on her behalf.
